Wisp - If Not Winter Tour - Live In Denver, CO.
Written and Shot By Warren SnyderOn the Saturday of September 13th, I was greeted with a message of opening act for Wisp’s sold out tour, Dream Ivory to capture the event held at the infamous Marquis Theater.
Entering the venue, seeing the fans lined around the block for Wisp’s show, I knew that this would be an event 20 years from now, would be remembered deeply by the fans for the intimacy within the performance, the production, and emotions felt during the show.
Capturing the event within all sets, I could feel electricity between all artists and their crowd, capturing that allowed an energy exchange making it feel like I made hundreds of friends at once.
Artist aldn was the first to take the stage, recently providing anticipation for his upcoming album “Strung Out Symphony”. An alternative record featuring Wisp, and his hit “icantbelieveiletyougetaway”, his sounds, stage presence, and charisma reminded me of the energetic and experimental vocals of hyper pop giants such as underscores and Jane Remover, clearly with his own twist on it, separating him from the industry.
Dream, Ivory took the stage, with Louie and Christian Baello, brothers with sonics reminiscent to that of Beach House and pop-punk atmospherics gave the crowd a view into their own world, playing tracks where calling them beautiful is an understatement.
Wisp entered the stage with bright, fluorescent light, and fog, taking the production to the next level, allowing the crowd to see the representation in between the art of performance and the art of music that Wisp made clear, although a hazy entrance to the crowd.
