Slander Presents: CODE RED. A one off Red Rocks event.

On the scolding days within the Summer, I usually occupy myself within indoor venues when I shoot. With new shows being announced over the course of the season in Red Rocks’ most filled days, if not months, ranging with events and acts for locals from movie nights, raves, or intimate performances from chart topping artists.

With Slander announcing a 6+ hour bill for their date at Red Rocks, with their performances being prolifically known for engaging visuals, mind-blowing pyrotechnics, or crowd members dancing in ways you’d have no idea what they’re spinning off of, I knew it would be an interesting show to capture.

I had never been to the world renowned venue between legendary artist’s in the industry, needless to say, I was in for a treat. Immediately hiking up the long flight of stairs with blistering summer heat, wearing loafers, jeans, and a black t-shirt, I can confidently say I was not dressed appropriately for what I had in store.

As I navigated myself through the venue, I notice brightly colored outfits, paper fans twice the size of a human head, and dedication between crowd members and they acts they came to see, I knew capturing an event like this would be special.
